Top 5 Tips for Making the Most out of Pencil Spaces!

Pencil Spaces is a platform equipped to concur any lesson. Here are some of our best tips for amplifying your experience:

Tip 1: 

Capture students' attention using Leader Mode!

When leader mode is enabled, participants will follow you in your Space, whether you move around the whiteboard, travel to a new board, or pin screen share. Everything you see, they see (unless it's a private board, of course!)

Tip 2: 

Remain in control of your class by adjusting Participant Permissions!

Restrict or grant participant permissions however you’d like. Noisy students? Mute them! Want to prevent students from editing your board? Prevent edits! Use Participant Permissions to ensure your class runs smoothly without disruptions.

Tip 3: 

Keep boards organized by naming them with the lesson date, topic covered, or anything else! Easily search for them by title using board search.

Renaming your boards makes it easy to locate lesson content as you continue to use a Space. Use board search to find the content you’re looking for fast, or make private boards to section off parts of your classroom for specific students. This will make it easier for you and your students to look back and review past lesson material.

Tip 4:

Never lose sight of your participants with Pop-Out video!

Pop-Out video allows you to lift your participants’ video feed up off the whiteboard and take them with you. They will follow you between tabs, windows, and other programs.

Tip 5:

Bring any content or tool, for any subject, into Spaces with Web Viewer!

Don’t see what you need in the App Library? Web Viewer allows you to open a collaborative browser directly into your Space without the need for additional tabs or apps. Use the Web Viewer to bring in your LMS and capture information, run assessments with tools like Quizziz and Quizlet, listen to foreign language videos/podcasts for audio comprehension, and do anything else a browser can!
